Define non-configurable features known as characteristics for a product specification.
Define Product Specification Features/Properties defines non-configurable features known as characteristics. For example, the title of a movie or the temperature range for a smart thermometer. Note that configurable features/properties are managed by the Product Configuration Management process and that this process uses a generalized set of processes to create the features/properties. This process focuses on associating them with a product specification. Features/properties can be shared among product specifications and can also be grouped. For example, a group of environmental properties or a group of technical properties.
